MD Rabbi in Washington, D.C.

I'm MD Rabbi, also known as Naimur Rabbi, an AI engineer, independent researcher, and founder from Bangladesh, now building in New Jersey. I study Computer Science at Stockton University and write RabbiWIKI, a public notebook on AI, software, startups, and the international student journey.

Founder of Calorie Mom

In 2025 I founded Calorie Mom, an AI-powered nutrition app shaped by beta feedback. It includes AI body-fat estimation, Apple Health integration, home-screen widgets, and a hybrid AI system for tracking calories without the busywork.

AI research and engineering

  • Memory-augmented brain encoding: adding content-based long-range memory to a state-of-the-art fMRI encoding model, and mapping where in the cortex memory helps.
  • Med-PaLM M reproduction: rebuilt a multimodal biomedical-AI pipeline with open models, reaching a 59× BLEU-1 improvement with one-shot prompting and LoRA fine-tuning.
  • LiftProofAI: a real-time retail-safety system built on a custom-trained YOLOv8 pipeline over existing CCTV feeds.
  • Reading Buddy: an AI reading partner for web and iOS that answers questions from highlighted passages.
  • Smile Factory: led a full-stack management system from classroom project to software adopted by a working arcade in Brigantine, NJ.

Leadership

At Stockton I've served as a Resident Assistant, student tutor, Residence Hall Association president, and International Student Organization event coordinator, and received the Foundation Scholarship, a Staff Recognition Award, and Dean's List honors.

Writing

I write about what I've lived and built: the path from Bangladesh to the USA, AI engineering, software engineering, and raising a seed round.
